North Ipswich

The Pizza Plus story starts on the 16th of July 2016 with an email sent to all Eagle Boys Franchisees informing us all that Eagle Boys would be placed into voluntary administration. After opening the Raceview store in October 2011 and purchasing the North Ipswich store in June 2013, we were left with a choice, convert our stores over to whoever purchased Eagle Boys from the administrator or we could create our own brand with our own pizzas.

The decision was an easy one, with a history in pizza going back to late 2007 working in multiple other pizza stores, and learning from a variety of different store owners and managers Jessee started work on the new menu and logo. The goal was to create a wide variety of pizzas and sides that we would be proud to sell to everyone. That meant, higher quality toppings and more of them. It also meant a bit of fun with pizzas like the Gems and Gravy Pizza, plus a return of sides like Ribs.

With all the hard work done, Raceview converted to Pizza Plus on April 1st 2017, followed by the North Ipswich store on the 28th of that same month. The learning and the changes didn’t stop there, our logo has had 3 minor tweaks and the menu has had 4 major updates in the 5 years since converting. Our dough weights have increased, our ribs are now super tender, we introduced our Big n Cheesy Pizzas, and a whole raft of other changes.

Add to that we make our dough fresh in-store, we prepare our veggies ourselves, choose our meats to be as tasty as possible (we cook our wings and steak strips ourselves) and our Mozzarella was specifically selected to ensure it remains extra delicious and low in oil. This all lead to Pizza Plus receiving hundreds of 5-star reviews across Facebook and Google plus being named the best pizza in Ipswich.

September 6th 2022, the Raceview store was sold to a new buyer who converted the store into his own brand. The sale of the store, after 11 years, allowed Tracey to semi-retire and spend more time with her family.

The North Ipswich store is still owned by our family and continues to make the best pizzas in town.
